The Stoic Sea Poem by Diwakar Bhatt

The Stoic Sea

I open my window in the morning nascent,
A cool sea breeze wafted the crispy scent.

Body and soul both received nature’s gift,
Panoramic view gave me an exhilarating drift.

Unending blue stretch picturesque to eyes,
The golden hue of rising sun upon it lies.

Sparkling sandy beach fringed by foliage lush,
Beckons to stroll barefoot in the morning hush.

At distant horizon where sea and the sky meet,
The rising sun smiles over mankind and greet.

Sound of sweeping waves compose a symphony,
Conducted by unseen hands of musicians many.

Mind boggling is this huge domain unexplored,
Depths still keeps treasures in colossal hoard.

Profound yet calm like a warrior mighty,
Won over the traits of anger and animosity.

Only wavy fondle it does with the silent shore,
Not unworthy antics but just a playful chore.

Provide its placid waters for all to sail over,
In the deep gives shelter to many forever.

Not cleaved the land but acted as link natural,
For many ages served to create ties cultural.

No chains tied, no fetters, not even walls high,
Still the vast unfathomable entity remains shy.

Sometime it swells and roars like a lion furious,
Surge of fear rolls by Poseidon’s ways mysterious.

At night, the beauteous moon peeps from above,
Ocean leaps to sky to kiss it with passionate love.

As the enamored sea rise and fall again and again,
Evidence enough to show an astute lover in pain.

Like a resolute pursuer trying with it’s ever best,
Hoping something miraculous may reward the zest.

As the night passes the sea forgets everything,
Resume the course of life as a destiny’s plaything.

Sons of sea, the fishermen walk over its waves,
Takes care of them like a fatherly figure it behaves.

Someday I will also fulfill my dream as a seafarer,
Roaming the seven seas like a Viking conqueror.
