I have never known
Someone as obedient
And enduring as you
Imprisoned under the clutches
Of Mother Soil
Yet never
A single sigh
Leaped through the air.
You swirl and swing with the wind
And bowed to any kind of storm
You always look up for the rays
Of the Mother Sun
With sheer delight
Praying to give you more light
You catch all the tears from heaven
Even if it will cause
Your fall and death.
You are my green curtains
From the probing eyes
Of passersby
My walls
From the harshness of the wind
Your halos that sparkle in the light
Give comfort against theheat and rain
Clean the air for me to live.
In your wide
And uneven trunks
I rest my tired body
The touch felt
Like a hug
From a mother's
Loving arms.
Now, I am old
And you are still here
Holding my cherished
Childhood memories
Intact and alive
In your rough barks
That bear the prints
Of my joys and pains
In life.

Excellent poem about a tree where you were so attached in your childhood. Precious childhood memories, Mrs. Juan-Austin. As an you have gained other appreciation for this familiar tree. The fact that the tree still is there, makes your memories sweeter. Despite the heavy rains, thunderstorms and more it is still there.. Please read (2)
In line 3 must be: As an person...........Thank you for reading
Why does PH not let it stay as I had written that correction? Every time PH put that word A D U L T away, I really don't understand. Thank you for your understanding and patience, Mrs. Juan-Austin
Awesome imagery and feel! .. Beyond #ing! ..+++++++++++++++++++++
This has such true beautiful sentiment! .. That flows from the true heart of a poetess! ..
Absolutely incredible! .. Written of such awe, beauty and heart! .. And I feel like I'm understating! ..
We all know tress are alive and they have their own consciousness. Yet, reading this poem it feels as if the tree that you have been amidst, in dialogue with you comes more alive... Now, I am old And you are still here Holding my cherished Childhood memories... Brilliant.
(4) ..You have become one with the tree, if I may say so, because the story reads like a conversation between two persons. I admire your beautiful and well worded tribute to The Tall Trees in Your Backyard. A poem to remember. A 10+++++++ for the voting; ratings.God's Blessings in Abundance be upon thee and thy beloved family. Amen.
