The Vegetarian Movement Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

The Vegetarian Movement

Rating: 5.0

Ignorance is one of the biggest sins,
Being kind towards all creatures,
With the values of love, care and
Selfless service and self control,
Following the path of truth and nonviolence,
We can get success and satisfaction!

Nonviolence is the greatest religion!
It is the greatest friend and austerity,
It is the greatest oblation and
It is the greatest truth and victory.

Due to violence all creatures get fear
We have to see ourselves within other creatures,
Then we shall not hurt or kill or give pain
To other creatures for our happiness,
We have to feel their freedom giving love.
We have to embrace all animals, birds and
Creatures with deep love, nonviolence and kindness,
Because, nonviolence is the greatest righteousness!

We have to acquire positive lively energy,
Through food we get strength, peace and love,
Positive lively food gives positive vibrations,
Positive energy we get from green vegetables,
Oh dear people of this lovely world,
All of you go vegetarian and join in this rally,
Let us go green with a movement of awareness
To keep animal rights and freedom ahead,
Other creatures have their own communities,
Let us hear their crying, agony and pain,
Let our river of kindness flow to save them.

Let us unite to protect forest, animals and birds,
This Earth is lovely garden of God!
This planet is made for all creatures!
Let us unite giving promise to our eternal God,
Our Super Father teaches us to be kind for all,
Surrendering before God, let us protect his garden.

This Earth is lovely garden of God! This planet is made for all creatures! ...................... So true! Just as men have a right to live on this Earth, animals also have the right to inhabit this land. They should be protected and should be given congenial surroundings for healthy survival! A compassionate write expressing the belief that both men and animals are creations of God! A well thought out write!

Nice thoughts, Kumarmani. It speaks with gentleness on a very important topic. Not so many people are willing to make sacrifices for the sake if others - animal or human.

Being vegetarian is good in life. Each person should leave non-vegetarian eating and prefer vegan lifestyle. This world at present needs vegetarian movement. People should be more aware about healthy social living. During this Corona Virus time such movement may be helpful. For good mental and physical health green vegetables are beneficial.

As we have a right to live on this Earth in peace, the animals and birds also do have such a right. Unfortunately man kills many animals to enjoy their meat. Our brutal killing of animals can be controlled if we become vegetarians! Vegetables are healthy for man. Then the world will become more green and the animals will have a peaceful existence....! Great exhortation to protect wildlife and stop violence.

I do think that fresh vegetables are good for you. I never leave them out of cooking an evening meal. But I do cook meat or fish as well, so I'm not a strict vegetarian. Your point about animals' rights is worth thinking about.

Reading this poem again, I am reminded of the dark side of this season: the sacrifice of pigs for Christmas...a tradition unfair.
