In my crazy
Bouts of numbness
I saw the light
Within darkness
In tears
Of such pain
I so cried
With such joy
With death
Around
Lone me
There's God

This is truly a poem of happiness. The speaker has achieved both Self Knowledge (the Socratic KNOW THYSELF) and divine blessings (the soprano aria at the end of The Messiah, I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVETH) . Such happiness is a foretaste of Paradise, that is, an unending joy is forthcoming.
Daniel, your feedback is truly Amazing! I sincerely believe that Kerouac was very pleased with this poem. Thank you so very much for your spiritual positivity!
