This Darkened Room Poem by Joseph Anderson

This Darkened Room

Rating: 5.0

I know not what awaits this darkened room,
since death has claimed you for its latest bride.
I feel a sense of some impending doom,
as solemn sadness sits 'midst tears I've cried.

At times this room held not a rosy bed
and peace and harmony became the cost.
Life's trials and sorrows raised its troubled head,
at times it seemed that everything was lost.

But, in this room we saw the light of day.
Made love, birthed kids, shared moments of sweet bliss.
Saw happiness and joy along life's way,
these are the moments I will truly miss.

Though you are gone from me, I still must stay,
as somehow, someday soon I'm on my way

My very sincere condolences Joseph. This poem expresses your feelings in a really great way. I pray for your strength. Know that our loved ones forgive us automatically, even if we have not asked for it. Keep on writing. This is an excellent sonnet.

Joseph, I’m sincerely sorry for your loss. She’ll enjoy this beautiful tribute. The reflections show your life of joy and appreciation for each other. Something to feast on forever. I’ve experienced some weighty losses of late. Sudden, untimely. Devastated the family. Somehow, we're tunneling through. And you will too. As you well know, these dark hours are the time to lean on your faith. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Trust God. And be blessed.

Really sorry to hear of your loss! One who shared your life so long, when gone would be missed sorely. But it cannot be helped! All of us will have to leave this world one day or the other. This beautiful sonnet is a touching tribute to her, also your acceptance of the inevitable and your hope of joining her one day!
