This Love Imprisons Me Poem by Tia Maria

This Love Imprisons Me

Rating: 5.0

Photographs of you on the beach
Arms around your new wife smiling
As the tears roll down my cheeks
Once again this pain still finds me

I feel the loss so much more
Seeing her with our family
And even more will she adore
The you who has settled down

So many years have passed
Why can't I just be free
I can't erase the memories
Still this love imprisons me

This beautifully expressed poem is one of great sadness, Tia, and your words are filled with much emotion. It is an aftermath of a failed love or divorce, and the heart just aches at the slightest mention or photograph or even mere thought of that former lover. Your poem was exceptionally well phrased and I am sure every reader who read it felt as I did, an overpowering sympathy for you having to endure these slings and arrows of the outrageous misfortune of a love gone astray. Carl.
