This Pain - Poem by Caitlin Pratt

This pain is deeper than skin,
Deeper than a heart break,
Deeper than the death of someone close,
This pain is the end of something that is never regained,

This pain is the feeling of her soul dying,
The end of a life lived smiling,
Now, she is just an empty shell,
Only existing to fulfill duties incomplete,

For it will be then, that she will be free,
Free to leave.
