Thought Of The Day Poem by Khairul Ahsan

Thought Of The Day

Rating: 4.6

The cool morning breeze
Softly sweeps over the placid waters,
Creating, not waves but ripples,
On the waters and in my mind.

The sky is somewhat overcast.
Dark clouds slowly chase away the blues;
The eyes seek serenity and look around,
And the inner thoughts wander idly along.

In such moments of pristine joy,
The rich may afford
To postpone their work and relax,
But the poor must go out to earn their bread.

Khairul, 'As far as it goes', I think this is a lovely poem, but let's not think automatically that a 'rich' person can or wants to just 'rest'

Khairul, Some may say 'Bri is poor' & some may say 'Bri's wife is rich'. That may be so, but I'd tell THEM: 'I'd rather be me; I've no wish to 'switch'....places with her. WHICH R U, poor or rich? ?

No matter how gloomy the weather looks, the poor must go out to look for their bread.

A wonderful poem with great imagery. Indeed, we can see the beauty of the day and some will take advantage of the same to relax.

(cont.) A secretary may be expected to work 9-5: 30 M-F & only take time off when approved days or weeks ahead of time, but the CEO may work 60+ hours a week, though she/he takes time off as desired/needed.i

[[once again i was NOT READY to submit my comment! ! ! ! ]] (cont.) the rich, man or woman, does not relax 24/7. The key word [ which I did not recall when I wrote the start of my comment ] is 'POSTPONE'. (cont.)
