'Till The Day We Die' Poem by Jessica Elizondo

'I love you, ' he says. She blushes and says 'I love you too.' Two high

school sweet hearts that were meant to be. He was 18 she was 17. As

they went home from the movies, her hand in his, he looks at her and

smiles, she says 'what? ' he laughes and says 'nothing just thinkin that

I'm a lucky guy to have such a beautiful girl whos eyes shine bright.'

She blushes and says 'I'm a lucky girl to have such a great guy whos

smile brightens up my day. I don't want to be anywhere else but your

arms.' He smiles 'till the day we die babe, I will always love

you.'.....The rain drenches the road and the lights can't seem to peirce

the darkness. He didn't see that on coming car. It hits head-on. His car

flips over and they are upside down with smoke and broken glass

everywhere. She looks at him but he doesn't move, she feels light
headed then can feel herself passing out. her hand still in his........She

wakes up in the hospital and hears her parents say 'Oh thank God

shes ok! ' 'Mom, ' she says, 'Wheres Brandon? ' Her mom shakes her

head. And silent tears of pain stream down her cheek. She goes to

school and feels so alone, she cries and her friends try to comfort her,

but whenever she sees their friends, shes reminded, and the

memories come flooding back. She goes into the closest bathroom

and completley breaks down. She goes home and drinks away her

pain but soon its not enough, she sits on the floor, her back up against

her bed, she grabs a knife and puts it to her wrist. As ears mix with

drops of blood, she looks up at the pictures of them together on her

night stand, bedside her bed. She flips them down, the pain is just too

hard to bare. She throws the blade across the room and regrets what

just happend. She can't go on like this. She gets down on her knees

and prays to God. 'God give mw the strength to go on Father I can't

take it! ' Tears flood the floor and she raises her hand to her neck and

touches the necklace he gave her............She now grows old and

makes it through life with the strenght of God. She lies now on her

death bed, her family surronds her tears fall and sadness lingers. She

takes her last breath and says 'I love you all and will see you again one

day, may God be with you and give you the same strenght he gave

me.' She closes her eyes only to re-open them again in Heaven. She

feels loving arms around her and a kiss landing gently on her neck and

a sweet fimilar voice that says, 'Till the day we die babe, till the day we

die.'
