Time Flies Fast Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Time Flies Fast

Rating: 5.0

'Time flies fast', we hear from many,
As the yearend draws near;
Truly so, for the end of the world
Is fast approaching every year.

On the eve of new year one says
He wants to be better person;
Turning a blind eye to darkness
To lead a new life in bright crimson.

Another one whispers his promise
Of keeping what his mouth is saying;
Turning a deaf ear to broken vows
To do it right early in the morning.

Still other tells someone somewhere
That he will fix what has been broken;
Making plans calendared for a year
To see to it goal won't be ruined again.

Recycled new year's resolutions
Have been said since time immemorial;
Every word told or recorded repeats itself,
Some smile in fulfillment, some cry in denial.

Everyone ought to know and see
That riches, fame and power won't last;
Seek first the kingdom of God,
Before it's too late, time flies fast.
