To The Silent Night Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

To The Silent Night

Rating: 5.0

Oh gently passing night
Can't you lull me to sleep?
How long can I keep
Counting the sheep?

It was a busy bustling day
And I savoured each moment
Heeding the lesson life has taught
To live in the present

Now I need to gather my strength
To meet a new day
So, cut my stream of thoughts
Let sleep come my way

You can bless me with a dream
Of a gently flowing stream
In a lush green valley
Where a thousand flowers sway

I have often begged those sheep to go away and let me sleep. Another beautiful poem that touches the reader's heart. Be blessed. 10

The poetic urge to the sublime night to lull the uncanny self to sleep is fabulously sketched! The subtlety of expression is adorable…As a reader, I love to quote: You can bless me with a dream/of a gently flowing stream/in a lush green valley/where a thousand flowers sway…10
