To Write Love On Her Arms (Song Tribute For The Charity) Poem by Tiffany Rose Moczydlowski

To Write Love On Her Arms (Song Tribute For The Charity)

Rating: 4.8

Cover up the wounds she cannot hide
Try to contain the loneliness she feels inside
Running in place
Same day to day
Tries to move on but her life stays the same

On the brink...
She can't handle anymore
The mirror shows
A smiling face
Neglects to expose
Her torn, battered limbs
A face of fortune, a face of love
A face of facade
Smash! And the glass scatters around
Their days of lying are over!

Chorus:
She cuts hate on her arms in fluid motions
The blood flowin' down worse than an ocean
Her parents haven't the slightest notion
Of the suffering...
She can't handle anymore
She's been pushed over
Drowning in the pain
She can't get closure
She's almost at the end
With no one she can call 'friend'

No more anguish
No more pain
Blood pours down like rain
'What drove her to this? '
They'll ask
But they'll never know
Little Marie, trapped in the darkest of places
Never admitting the smile
On her face is fake
Alone
She felt it in her soul

Chorus

Writhing on the floor
Tears mix with crimson
She can't handle anymore
Eyes shut slowly, strength is fading
He walks through the door
Shock rising, he runs to her

'You can't fix things if you're dead'
He said
'Put your hand in mine'
Arms outstretched, he offered aid
Hoping to make her fine

He wrote love on her arms in tender motions
He came in time and was truly devoted
For her to learn there's more to life
Than the suffering
She found the strength
To turn around
She gladly puts on that smile now
And because of him
She doesn't fake it
She doesn't fake it, no
Not anymore

Wow Tiffany this is excellent writing. You have captured the feelings so realistically and I'm so glad it ended optimistically. You obviously relate well to what young people are going through with the sensitivity needed for writing. Am familiar with TWLOHA through Six Word Memoirs at Smith magazine. Hope that this verse is used and read to help other young people.
