In olden days man hailed his home and hearth,
Enjoyed many a joys of Nature's bliss,
Endeavoured not to wound its varied worth.
Look at him now, at eyes of greed of his.
Audacious, he feigns ready her to please,
Dedicating a token day of spring,
Forgetting— what a jack of fool oh he's,
That all his bounties earth alone does bring.
Oblivious that he's here on a short lease,
From her womb was he born, whence would return,
His smile would last till her goodness green is,
Long ere she dies due his sin, be his turn.
And mortally wounded she bleeds today,
Too li'le and late seems O man this Earth Day.

Man dedicates a day to earth and feels he has done enough. He forgets that days and nights happen thanks to earth; that every single day that dawns is due to her. Who is this man to allot a day to her and pretend he has done enough for her? International Earth Day: 22nd April.

I would like to translate this poem
From her womb was he born, whence would return, His smile would last till her goodness green is, Long ere she dies due his sin, be his turn. And mortally wounded she bleeds today, Too li'le and late seems O man this Earth Day.....outstanding conceptualization. A beautiful poem on earth on International Earth Day. Thanks for sharing here.
Thank you dear KM for such appreciating words. Dinosaurs were destroyed by an asteroid, man seems to be digging his own grave.
