Triumph Over Uninvited Guests Poem by Jasbir Singh

Triumph Over Uninvited Guests

Rating: 4.8

I invited some guests to come and make their stay,
Sadly! Uninvited guests came in and occupied the place,
I asked happiness to come inside and stay,
She replied, ' I can't come in, until sorrow go away'.
I asked to peace to come inside and stay,
She replied, ' I can't come inside until anger is in your place,
I said to happiness, ' I can't chase out sorrow '
However, you both can share my home and stay,
I even said to peace, ' can you and anger both share my house and stay'
Then replied both the happiness and peace,
' We won't enter until our rival go away,
I pleaded over and over to both of them,
However, happiness and peace refused to stay,
And they both left me walking on their way,
I made a commitment to starve both anger and sorrow,
I won't listen to them to whatever they say,
Very soon sorrow and anger has to leave,
As they were starving and lonely because I didn't gave them both any heed,
Anger and sorrow realised their mistakes and learnt a lesson,
They both left quietly without making any hassle,
As I was outside my house I was looking for my invited guests,
I saw from far peace and happiness were coming towards my house,
From that moment onward they remained as my guests.
