I was visiting her today
When just as I was leaving
A huge butterfly circled me
Catching my attention

I know it was you
Making sure that I knew
That everything will be okay
Thanking me for being there

I know the end is near
And that she is not alone
I should not worry anymore
To be at peace when the time comes

I felt a sense of relief
Even a smile came to my face
Because I knew it was a sign
That you were waiting patiently

I have a sense of loneliness
Despair so deep in my soul
My heart won't be at peace
Until two butterflies appear
