Two Factions Struggle Poem by Glen Kappy

Two Factions Struggle

Rating: 5.0

You see it, God, how two factions struggle—
each has pull and I am made unstable.
One fears the forwardness that hurts your name—
the other the shyness that ends in shame.

Create in me a wholesome balance
that your love may show in every instance.
Sunlight has its dust, nature its wildness—
form in my being a healthy boldness.

(If I could make myself, I wouldn't ask.
Nor is the end I seek a manly mask.
Above this request—more important still—
that whether sure or shy, I do your will.

Sort of a prayer in a poem. I like it!
