Two Sailors Poem by Kim Barney

Two Sailors

Two sailors seeking recreation
On furlough for a short vacation
Just turned themselves about
When they heard a sweet shout
Coming from a high elevation.

Two painted ladies then they saw
Which made them want to shout Hurrah!
Quite easy on the eyes,
Which came as a surprise,
No inclination to withdraw.

The shout came from the second floor
Hey, you two swabbies washed ashore!
My name's Buttercup;
You two come on up
And get what you've never had before.

This filled the first young man with glee
But the other said No, we've got to flee!
We must get away quick,
We don't want to be sick;
It's clear they must have leprosy!
