Whispering a little song from where you belong,
A song of a paper moon and of a love's hope,
As in the night carefully I sneak away,
I follow the path down to my secret bay,
Searching for Orion amongst the night's bright stars,
Who seem to know the tale of my memoirs;
And on the foam of the dark blue waves of the sea,
The silver kisses of the night's mistress I see.
Rose Moon of the night sky light my way,
And grant me this wish, grant me what I dare say.
Moonlight dances on the sea as a mermaid fair,
Allures my mind, speaks your name, combs my hair,
Waves' music, stars singing like enchanting sirens,
And I dive to the depths, no more fear, no more silence.
Like a world of its own and like a mother's embrace,
Under the moonlight's beauty and effortless grace,
The sea becomes my heart; speaks a tale of love,
And succumbs to the will of the Rose Moon above;
A Moon not of paper nor of hopes that can't last,
But a Moon real that sees through the heart of a lass;
And like the sea's untamed waves calms down my soul,
Until the return of the one that my heart stole.
And the Rose Moon tells me before she hides and she's gone,
Before the night comes to an end, before the dawn
"He's at a faraway land, where sun first rises",
And sheds her remaining light on Sirius that rises,
"But wait for him where the light was first born,
Here, at the land of sun, sea, marbles and stone",
The land you and I call home…
