Underneath

You've got the sun in your heart
Hiding rainbows up your sleeves
But rainclouds overhead
Brewing stormy cups of tea

You've got the moon in your soul
Blinding stars on your mind
But fog wrapping round
Stirring hurricanes inside

Here’s a calm afternoon
A warm northern breeze
But a burning sun sinking
Setting a slow chilling freeze

This steaming sweaty summer
After a rejuvenating spring
Welcomes an eerie deathly autumn
Before clear darkness winter brings

I've got a day to recover
A week before and yet
These months full of nothing
Living years of regret

If belief is how a waste is shown
A memory of thought is grown
A dreary dream to follow by
So harness fractured troubled lies
