Undue Inflictions Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Undue Inflictions

It is a sadness,
To have it...
With determination to ruin,
One's own home.
And the hand to bite that feeds,
A dependency.
A dependency made believed unneeded.

It is a sadness to have witnessed,
During a pandemic creating an upheaval.
The many severed from consciousness.
To have nothing left,
But a mindset focused upon selfishness.
And entitlements they can not get.
Because of a virus,
Unique and literally death threatening...
Has come to interrupt their 'normalcy'.
Leaving change to make,
More effective...
Than pretensions to address.
Or the best of faked impressions made.

It is a sadness,
To have undue Inflictions permitted...
By those given positions to sit,
Making decisions.
As if anointed as deities,
Receiving direction from an elected 'god'.
A 'god' self serving.
Representing an alternate universe.
And followed by 'disciples',
Thirsting the fantasy endorsing the vision.

Hypnotized and succumbed,
To undo what had once become a greatness.
Done by diverse ethnic races.
Yet comes along one,
With a diseased mentality.
Skilled to lie, fraud and deceive.
And applauded for the doing of misdeeds.
Capable to have the duping feasted,
To feed upon as if to crave...
The appetizing for undue Inflictions.

And this sickness sought,
Is delivered and bought.
By those so far removed from their minds,
They have been made to neglect...
Resent and protest against,
Their own quality of life to detest it.
For no other reason to express.
But to have have it suggested,
That better quality of life...
Represented by the ones,
Of other skin colors.
Is not what has been envisioned,
In an alternate reality to live it fictioned!

"That ain't fiction.
That's straight up in the face craze! "
Determined to reach,
Destruction as a final destination!
But...
Who am I to pass judgement,
On what is done by anyone...
Convincing others to join their mission! "
