Upon Reading "Romance Of The Western Bower" Poem by Perdita Young (Hanna Wang)

Upon Reading "Romance Of The Western Bower"

Rating: 5.0

Upon Reading "Romance of the Western Bower"

Under the lamp, I stay up late reading,
About the romantic scene of Lute Playing.
Quiet is the moon and gentle is th' breeze,
When an old drama new daydreams provokes—
Love of play awakens my sentiments...

The young scholar drives across the autumn wood,
Hasty away from a darling he so loves,
In pursuit of fame and fortune, as he should…
It caused much laughter and many a tear,
And all tears shed for Oriole, young and fair.
