Walking Through A Nuclear Wonderland Poem by Ramona Thompson

Walking Through A Nuclear Wonderland

Dark rewrite of the Christmas classic, Walking Through A Winter Wonderland

Warning sirens blare
Are you listening?
In the rush hour lane traffic is braking
An awful sight oh we are so screwed tonight
Soon to be
Walking around blind a nuclear wasteland

Gone away forever is the blue bird
Here to stay is a rotting dead bird
He's groaning a god awful death song as we go hunting for food
Walking in a nuclear wasteland

Well where there used to be a meadow
All pretty and green
Now just like all the rest
It is dead and decaying
We can capture a terrorist man
And cook him up a golden brown
He'll scream what do you think you fools are doing?
We'll say you should know
Cos it's all your fault
We have to do whatever we can to survive
Living in a nuclear wasteland

Later on we'll conspire as we plan an unholy revenge by the fire
To face unafraid the new bombs they have made
Soon to be again droppin' in a nuclear wasteland

Where there used to be a meadow
Where now it's just ugly and black
We can capture a terrorist man
And pretend he's a circus clown
We'll have lots of fun with Mr. Terrorist Man
Watching as the bullets from our hand guns knock him down

Oh when that dark black snow is falling
It sure does send an icy chilling
Up and down our spines
As we're forced to frolic and slay
In the very worse kind of way
Just to survive
Walking through a nuclear wasteland
