Watching The Raindrops Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

Watching The Raindrops

Rating: 5.0

With grey skies above and the wind is still blowing,
Trees bend and sway and it's so bleak outside,
Dull is the morning horizon is shrouded,
With clouds that are low and the view they now hide.
The puddles are forming no end to the sadness,
I'm all alone and my heartache does stay,
Watching the raindrops that run down my window,
Longing for sunlight to brighten my day.

The street is so empty nobody does venture,
Out from the warmth of their homes where they live,
Hope has all gone and I can't see the future,
Has anything more it can possibly give.
I've nothing to do and my life is so empty,
Chances all over there's no other way,
Watching the raindrops that run down my window,
Longing for sunlight to brighten my day.

I wish you were with me to lift all my spirits,
Now it's all over it can never be,
So I must live with the burden I shoulder,
Too heavy to bear how I long to break free.
From dawn until dusk there is nothing to cheer me,
Nights are so restless with debts I can't pay,
Watching the raindrops that run down my window,
Longing for sunlight to brighten my day.
