What Good Is Love? - Poem by Tamara Moir

'What good is love? ' I ask you.
'What use is a broken heart? '
I've had my share of happy times
And loving rhymes.
The doorbell chimes.
They're here to take my love away.
I beg them but he just won't stay
With me.

'What is the point? ' I ask you.
What pain it causes me.
I feel my heart's been sliced in two
Because of you.
If I only knew
What love was really like inside -
A hidden realm of suicide
In all of us.

'So what's the use? ' I ask you.
'What happened to the roses? '
Love comes and goes just like the rain
But leaves such pain.
Washed down the drain,
My emotions twist and turn. My heart
Just craving, only breaks apart
Inside me.
