What I Am Poem by Anna Rushlau

What I Am

Rating: 5.0

Sadness is a disease feeding on the living like it owns the world
It sucks the life from the victim as if they never mattered in this cold, unforgiving thing we call life. Sadness takes over your actions and never allows you to think, it consumes you and takes you over. It shows you that you were right to have doubts about the good times and were right not to expect to be happy forever. It feels like you are being punished for the good times and that your life was too good so the world had to add something bad to it to even it out. Sadness is what I have become.
