What I'm Thankful For Poem by Laquory Jones

What I'm Thankful For

Since the day I first picked up a pen
My veins surged through life with its adrenaline
I've been blessed I must confess that
Life puts you through the ringer and that
Life is nothing but a test but as I exhale
This excess weight off my chest
I can say that I'm thankful better yet
I haven't felt more grateful that
I can be able to keep aiming forward
While working toward a better year

As I amend each of my fences
I think it's habit that we as humans put
Up barriers of defenses especially when
Things become too intense with
Things that becomes condensed with
Non-sense just things that runs through our
Conscience but I have to remain vigilant
And conscious by proceeding with caution
There was a time I would've just lost it
With everything slipping through the cracks
Things began fading fast & fading to black
Just a fraction no time for retraction
While giving you Poet to Reader interactions

Now that I've gained back my serenity with prosperity
Maybe people can now start understanding me
When I say I consider each one of you as family
Thicker than blood I've been blessed enough
You all cemented my poetic touch
Contributing much while getting me through
The roughest patches your heart no caliber
Can match it you all became my Irish Luck
So with this poem I'm thanking you all much
And grateful for all of the support

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! ! ! !
