What Is Normal? Poem by Kim Barney

I was born in a bank - - my mother went there and made a deposit

What Is Normal?

Hey, back when I was just a kid,
I used to mix up things I did.
To my first grade teacher's surprise,
I dotted my t's and crossed my i's.

Then growing up
there on the farm,
most things did not
cause too much harm.

I milked all the chickens,
got eggs from the cow,
then slopped the horse
and rode the sow.

I butted the goat,
and that was such fun,
but he gave a mean look
and I had to run.

I could tell you that now
I lead a normal life,
but take my word for it
--- just don't ask my wife!

What Is Normal?

Fun stuff. Reminds me of my days on the ranch.
