When Jesus Came - Poem by joseph freeman
Jesus stepped into my heart.
I jumped back with quite a start.
'Fear not my friend' said He to me.
'I came today to set you free.'
'You don't know what I am' I said
Jesus simply shook His head.
'It's not what you have done,
but what I did for you my son.
I died for you' I heard Him say.
I died to take your sin away.'
'Alas' I said 'How can this be?
Why should You die for one like me? '
'It's not My Father's will' he said
that you remail among the dead.
My Father loves you don't you see?
That's why I died, to set you free'.
