When The Light Fills This Darkness Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

When The Light Fills This Darkness

Rating: 5.0

All alone in the evening
As the stars begin to shine,
In the sky
They do lie
Where my dreams did surely die,
Looking back to the morning
When my life was planned ahead,
Joy I saw
But no more
Now tomorrow waits in store.

When the light fills this darkness
And the day begins again,
I will see
Misery
For our love can never be,
And the warmth of the summer
Shall never warm my heart,
Cold as ice
Rolled the dice
And was left to pay the price.

Now the dawn is approaching
And the night is at an end,
Skies aglow
Yet I know
That my pain shall never go,
As the flowers are all weeping
And each dewy tear for me,
For they share
My despair
No one else does seem to care.

Love the layout of each verse, an unusual rhyming set-up. Very well done, I would think not an easy one to accomplish. Excellent work. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
