Who This Animal Is? Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Who This Animal Is?

When loved really, the animal presumes love as adulation and
plans for deception.
When helped, it is reluctant to
admit your help and exhibits
vacillation.
When sees some one's good,
the animal becomes envious,
when some one is in danger,
it pulls legs further.
It is blind to his own small and great blunders,
but invariably searches for
even small mistakes of others,
makes a mountain out of
a molehill in order to
gloss over its own errors.
Turns away its head when advised
to give a deaf ear,
always quests for opportunity
to harm and hurt his bete noire.

When self interest is fulfilled,
it grimaces facial muscles
and leaves away for ever.
Biologists classify it as an animal
and place it in kingdom Animalia
as it possess all systems like
many others.

Cognition and polyglotism
make it proud,
claims of supremacy
over others,
a vain glorious and highly
audacious one.
My dear readers,
I request you to be genuine
and unbiased to
specify its proper name.
