A man came to me
said he had something to say
and me being me
said he had the whole day
so he asked
why i smile all day
perplexed i asked
if my smiles upset his day.
Poor man turned red in the face
and said my smiles were fake
it then dawn on me
he just didn't know me
so i asked him
what it was that hurt him most
'that your smiles are so beautiful', he said
and well there! that answers his question!
Smile, smile it can take a long way than a gun Smile away worries and smile and fun Smile and drink life to the lees Smile until death from life flees Smile all busy bees, Smile all children with frisbees Smile flies united like geese, smile be life a block of cheese Smile no matter you are Japenese, Chinese dabbinf on face mayonnaise Smile in similes, smile as smileys, smile as gypsies, smile in poesies Smile in agonies, ecstasies, fallacies, jealousy, piracies, fancies Smile for life`s ideosyncracies
Haha, a quirky yet meaningful little poem :) Reminds me of Aesop's fable 'The Fox and the Grapes', in which a fox, unable to reach a bunch of ripe grapes high up on a vine, dismisses them as sour and unpleasant to eat anyway. In this case, it is almost like the man you spoke to assumed your smile was fake simply because he himself had nothing to smile about. I just have one question...did such an incident actually happen to you? In any case, keep on writing - and smiling - my fellow poet! -LC
cute :) i very much like this poem. how you portrayed his side as well as yours.
