from "While Passing Through"/Spring
Spring—college campus—
her smile—red block building—
ivy on its sides—
sunlight over all the scene—
why this what I remember?
Sounds like a happy memory. Some memories are brought to mind by obvious triggers. And some just jump in from nowhere!
yes, it interests me why our minds hang on to certain things, things which don't even seem consequential, and forgets so many others. thanks for your comment, laurie. -glen
So beautiful poem on memory, nature and woman having euphonious words. Thank you sir for sharing this gem.10
first, kumarmani, thank you for your reading and your positive comment. and i'm appreciative as well that your comment called attention to the space i left out between i and remember at the end. have a wonderful week! -glen

There are certain things that remain fresh in our memory. It could be a minute thing like a leaf, flower or a tree. It rekindles happy memories. I am sure this Tanka is a pleasant memory of spring and of a lovely lady. Yes Glen? I loved this passing glimpse of a joyful memory.
thank you, geeta. the reason this puzzles me is that i got just a glimpse of this young woman i didn't even know, but somehow it stuck in memory. the workings of memory, of our minds, is fascinating, yes? btw, i recently finished a book on the brain you might find interesting, my stroke of insight by jill bolte taylor; she tells of what she experienced from a rare stroke at age 37. be well, geeta! -glen
