Weeping Willow

Willow Branches

Inside the willow
snug against it trunk
I am faceless
Wrapped within it's branches
Safe from the world
of hate and pain

I lay my heart under it's leaves
Gently it sweeps through me
as the wind blows
Taking all my pain
Leaving me at rest
in the shadows

In burst of laughter
I feel the dark shadows lift
As my face shifts
Changing into someone
I once knew

Many years passed
Since her face came into view

Slowly I drift
Like in a trance
Going through metamorphoses
With the willow deep inside
my soul
Bringing light to a darken

That once walked a straighter path
Before falling into the valley
Where shadows grew darker
Taking her soul into a deep valley
of depression and despair

She looks back upon the road
standing under the willow
Knowing she has no place to go
Except up the hills that stand beside
the valley
She fell into long ago
So I turn my face towards the hills
struggling against the winds
I attempt to climb through the valley
to hills
once more.
