Woman
She is painted
in hues most abject.
now that He has
achieved her,
Death rests
at her feet.
does His eyes too
bear a drop or two
of tears for her?
does He feel
bereaved too?
Is woman ‘just a thing, a body' for the exclusive use of man?
I would like to hear the views of my fellow-poets on the usage of the word 'achieved' in the expression that Death has "achieved" her. I had considered other words like possessed, made (her) surrender, defeated, subdued etc, but preferred this one

Men's supremacy, put in question in a most fair and delicate way. In order not to force a hurtull intervention.
We live in 2023, not in 1823, when women were ordered by male-all courts to wear a scarlet badge citing "A"…. as life-long punishment for "adultery". The most pertinent question is has the woman sinned alone?
