Words From An Angel Poem by Orlando Belo

Words From An Angel

Rating: 5.0

Something bizarre happened this sunny autumn morning.
an angel appeared before me without any warning.
His strange aura and appearance made him look out of place,
but he spoke as a human, as we looked face to face.

"It seems our Almighty God remains a doubt in your mind,
so I have been sent here because I am an unlikely kind.
The hierarchy selected me because of the way that I am seen,
and as you can see I am not typical, beautiful, or serene.

I am an earlier model made before mortals were created.
I am old-fashioned looking and a little antiquated.
Nevertheless, I have proved many times my purpose and worth
by helping the doubters like you here on Earth.

Well now, I'm certainly not human as you can plainly see,
so another type of heavenly creature I must surely be.
You could assume of course that I came from outer space
and I had left my flying craft in a nearby place.

Don't worry I'm not an alien who has come to abduct you
I've come to help you to see much further than you do.
Tell me now, what other creature would spend their time of day
speaking in your own language in a most familiar way?

Does not my floating above the ground convince you a little more?
And my elaborate body design, so stunning and without a flaw?
Are you yet convinced that someone special must have created me,
as he made everything else in the universe including eternity?

I do hope that I have helped to remove the doubt in your mind
that the Omnipotent made all, irrespective of shape and kind.
Well, at least I may have brought another perspective into view,
so you can expand your beliefs and possibly your faith too."

I blinked an eye and this creature had disappeared from sight,
amidst a huge flash of golden bright light.
When I looked down his shadow was still there on the ground,
but it was fading, as do all shadows that are heaven-bound.
