Words Misspoken - Poem by Brandon Doore
*To a friend who is dealing with more than imaginable*
Your heart lays heavy, like a brick it feels,
For your loved one is on a bed with needles in his arms.
Crushed is his body, it’s strength slowly fading,
Your tears run like the Nile, at his words last spoken.
But lament not, for the words so falsely spoken shall flash before his eyes,
The pain of sorrow tears his eyes.
For he did not mean the words he spoke in frustration,
Wanting to plead your forgiveness he cries.
The monitor finally reaches the flat line,
As you try to dry your tears.
With a smile you forgive him,
Helping him to raise up off his knees.
