World Undiscovered Poem by Fiona Davidson

World Undiscovered

To reach out and touch skin
To caress and feel the rythmn
As it moves with each breath
The smoothness of its surface
Glistening with a gloss of tan
Honey colouring fading to white
As the season draws to its close
Tracing delicate patterns across
A face relaxed in sweetest sleep
Eyelid genty flutters as dreams
Slip over your visage and away
I watch the parade of thoughts
A transition from sleep to waking
Crystal clarity of mind is mine
Lying wide awake remembering
The scenes that float before you
Of ships that sailed and vanished
Carrying our love on its voyage
Through a world undiscovered
