Would You Have Stayed... Poem by Amanda Lukas

Would You Have Stayed...

I would have lived in your arms
and melted with each kiss as if it was the first.
I would have counted the stars in your eyes every night.
I would have loved you forever, if you'd let me.

You would have been my everything,
now nothing more than a memory.
You could hold my eternity in your palm,
but you never had the time.

I would have cried when you left me,
but you never gave the chance.
I would have died in your emptiness,
but it wasn't worth the trouble.
