Dee Daffodil

Writer's Block - Poem by Dee Daffodil

Have I forgotten,
How to write?
I sit and think,
With all my might...
But it just doesn't come.

Years ago,
When I was young,
I could write,
And found it fun...
But, not so much now.

Perhaps it's that,
I try too hard,
To write a poem,
and rhyme a word.
Does that rhyme?

Maybe I will switch,
One day.
To writing children's books,
That say...

Darn...there it is again! !

You keep stumbling girl and don't you worry, you'll bounce right back. I too have wondered many times if it's over for me and my writing was just another phase in my life. Well those thoughts could be basis for an upcoming poem. I look forward to reading more and more of your work Dee.---Melvina--- (Report) Reply

Anna is right, we all know what you mean.. In the privacy of our minds we've all asked ourselves...'How much rhyme is too much rhyme? '...so very often, time after time....hahahaha

This doesn't sound like writer's block, but a serious case of rhymitis. Much easier to deal with. Fun one! -chuck (Report) Reply

When it becomes that much of a struggle to write, time to walk away for a while. As for rhyming-phooey! (Report) Reply
