Writing Poetry: 101 Poem by Terence George Craddock

Writing Poetry: 101

Rating: 5.0

poets already know this
write from the heart
write what you know

do not fake it
do not write
what you do not know

a hack job
is imitation
a false imitation
of what you are not

every person
who walks this earth
has unique experiences

unique insights
what is normality to you
may be foreign to others

write yourself
with a core essence
with an intense honesty

it will be necessary
to write simple well first
if you want to develop a voice

your voice
your own voice
not an echo of another

how can you run before you can walk
how can you climb before you can crawl
how can you fly before you can jump
