It’s been 18 months
Since you have left
Our loving home
To give it a whirl
To make on your own
To be miss independent
All I can do
Is think and wonder
What you are doing
I pray to God
Every day and night
That he keep you safe
I can only hope
That someday you
Will return
Because all I
Yearn for
Is one great big hug
I agree. A hug is great therapy, our thirty year old children know this and give us hugs freely - and there's the rub, they have to be GIVEN...
I havent had a hug in a while....I cant even get a hug from my mom.....*tears*
There is nothing more reassuring than a hug. Your poem is heartfelt and speaks volumes. Sue x
What a nice expression, Scott...keep writing and thank you for sharing this thought.
Scott, I can really feel your yearning in this poem. And missing her, too. It's so difficult to let them go, to let them make their own mistakes. Hang in there, Scott. Barbara
Great message....its funny how sometimes it seems that is all we need to keep us going IS.A ((Hug)) ..........I am sure your daughter appreciated your poem. =Shelley=
Loving and caring for your family is always a good thing. Never forget them.

There is nothing like a good hug to hold two hearts together, wonderful, tender piece. Know this feeling as the last one just left the nest at 18 years old.
