'Yet' Poem by Brian Mayo

'Yet'

Rating: 5.0

A simple little word, is yet
And yet quite easy to forget
Much like a promise or a debt
Without the feelings of regret
The jilted lover’s whispered threat
The obligations left unmet
But still or better yet, just yet
It’s better than a but, you bet.

The best poems are boiled down to a singularity, and this one does exactly that. Simple, focused, yet witty and funny.
