I once wrote a poem so transparent
That no one who read it could see
The masterpiece clearly inherent
But visible only to me.
I once wrote a poem so confusing
Not one understood what it meant
And though each word was of my choosing
I too, cannot guess its intent.
I once wrote a poem so disgusting
Each person who read it got sick
I think with a little adjusting
It won't happen nearly so quick.
some new-to-me PH poet left a comment on my Toe Jam poem accusing me of being the writer of sick humor. at least he said humor! bri ;)
Now twice i've read this Brian Mayo poem, which supplies 'sugar' to me, like does phloem, and though i doubt that the poem's a tree, i'm glad to have found it. was it written for me?
Yes, you've done all that Brian. And if you can do that, it speaks volumes about your poetry. The use of the term transparent is so multi-layered in this piece, that stacked up together, the lines are difficult to interpret, yet the reader is still left with the bittersweet impression of transparency. A challenging undertaking successfully conveyed. ;) LOL
Pam, it's like you can see right through me... (chortle, snicker, guffaw)
Humor, wit and poetry, all wrapped up in a neat little package. I loved it.
Ha ha ha. nice. I think you should not write such poem going through the reader got sick.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
Poems come in to being by writing down thoughts and reading poems is interpreting them differently. Poetry amounts to both, I feel. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome. Thanks for reading and taking the time to respond.
