You Can't Be Born Again Poem by Paula Glynn

You Can't Be Born Again

You only have one life,
You can't be born again,
What your beliefs are,
I do not know,
For when you die,
You will remember misery,
Or the passion and excitement,
That was your life.

Whether some bully,
Takes your happiness,
Only you can decide,
If you give in to others demands,
Only you can decide;
Whether you are a fool or not,
And whether you have pride.

There is no god,
That can take you out of hell,
Only you can decide,
Whether to be bitter and resentful,
Or look forward,
To every day and night.

We all make mistakes,
But don't be a fool,
That lights up a cigarette,
Thinking they look cool,
Hoping to deter them,
But it won't work,
And you'll be out of luck.

Don't believe everything you hear,
Live your life without feeling fear,
Trust yourself and your intuition,
Be your own hero,
Because you can't be born again.
