You Rejected My Love Poem by Matthew Holloway

You Rejected My Love

Rating: 5.0

I proffered my heart and love
to you once, twice, you declined
My heart ached, retreated
hurt, wounded, limping away
I would have thought of us
as the highest of romances
something musical, poetic
something truly beautiful
yet still you declined
my heart and love alike
so there were I alone
with this thought and this dream
where you accepted
I hope I sleep again
and dream such a dream

True love is never smooth, you have to keep at it, and new lover is trickier. If you love her, hang on in there.
