You're Just Being You Poem by Laquory Jones

You're Just Being You

Verse 1
Sometimes I drift through the moonlight
Sometimes things just don't feel right
Sometimes we have no choice but
To sit tight but when I think of you
How you just breathe in life
While melting the coldest of ice
That's just what you do
No one does it like you do
You're just being you
You say that you love me
Then I say that I love you too
And when I'm feeling blue
You have a way of uplifting me
I just want to do the same for you

Verse 2
Sometimes I drift through the moonlight
Sitting in my car I'd just go for a drive
There's no better feeling of knowing that
You're by my side
So babe are you down to ride
You've wiped the tears that I've cried
No one knows the pain that I feel inside
But I know that deep inside
You're just being you
Your soft spoken words
Speaking their truth
You make me feel brand new
It's something that we're not use to
Some days I'd like to do the things that
We use to do but you say those things
We outgrew babe did you outgrew me too
Those midnight drives perhaps that's why I'm
In the place that I'm in but there's nothing that
I wouldn't do to show you how much you mean
To me I've watched the tears begin to fall
As I see your raw emotion begin to crawl
Have we given it our all
Tell me whom should I call

Verse 3
Sometimes I drift through the moonlight
Sitting in my car I'd just go for a drive
Where our destinies meet
Something about you has always been
Quite unique at least to me
Perhaps we were always meant to be
Sometimes we don't always see
Pure hearts and their keys
What is it like to be really free
Do you feel at your best
When you're with me because to me
You've become like family
Bride to be perhaps it's just fantasy
Excusing me how do I make you see
That I can be your groom
Wedding and Jumping the broom
Kisses at noon
I'm just thinking out loud
Excuse me just thinking about legacy
