Oh! Ayodhya what has happen’d to thee? Thou were built with holy walls & bricks People came from far-flung to see But, now you art used to fire ricks Thou wert a paradigm of peace Full of temples & sages Helped, fed everyone & each And mothered them for ages But, then the fluey wind flows the other way People stab you in the heart cold Sparin’ no child nor old And kill everyone to seek the heavens doorway Oh! Ayodhya what your children have done to you? They’ve scarred & savaged, rumbled & ravaged Made you nothin’ but a drab As the blaze & bloodshed is not few I pity you night & day As your greenhorns fritter & fray Why can’t they end this wicked slay All they’ve done is to burn you in everyway
