Driving At Night
In solitude my colours gleam
A lowly bright, by most unseen.
But some are captured by the stare
of haloed light just standing there.
The bracelet chains that arm in arm
Adorn the empty ribs and charm
and light the way for yellow swathes
rushing by along the ways,
more often now in halogen.
Along the edge a fire might dance
While leaves laugh light and me entrance.
There is no flame that laughs for long
The echo left from snatch of song
as duff duff car burns fast along
the empty street.
And spider web is tossed by wind
And beaded on ...
