    Geert van Istendael (born 29 March 1947) is the pseudonym of Geert Maria Mauritius Julianus Vanistendael, a Flemish [Dutch-speaking] Belgian writer, poet and essayist, born in Uccle (one of the 19 municipalities in the Brussels-Capital Region of Belgium) .

    He studied sociology and philosophy at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. From 1987 until 1993, he worked as a journalist for the Belgian National Television and since 1993 he became a full-time writer.

when finding a connection with his peers.
Level. Pointed. He breathes holes,
vault and arch enlighten his insight.

He'll take on anything, he struts it all. Dutch street,
Roman sewer, from Babylon to Gothic,
he is the callus of cities. Sometimes a thermal.
