We build a world
where truth is dangerous.
We paint smiles,
smiles to hide
we don´t know why.
Fear and lies,
the bricks we use
to build this mask.
Can we stand
what we are?
Please don´t ask,
just smile.
Hit me with the truth, always. Rather have some good truth than a bad lie. I can take it. grrrrrrrr lol. Very well penned and wisely thought out. :)
This is the truth and probably the better way to act; otherwise, we end up hurting too many or being hurt in return. It is too easy to offend others, even when being truthful, and once offended the consequence cannot be undone. Better to smile and send the message of acceptance and wishing one well.
A simple smile will lift up your spirit..thanksfor this.. Meggie
All truth unfurled in guise of a smile...well done....thank you
Can we stand what we are? Please don´t ask, just smile. agree with your say you did here..smiles and happiness belongs to innerslf and when there is broken feeling and unvisible pain..no smiles come to lips to appear.. but smiles really are the sign of pleausre and satisfaction.. hey you are really very sweet way writing your poems and I enjoy your work which is being done from the core of your sweet and kind heart.. well done dear friend..10/10
Smile is the light of this world..I agree with Ben, it is a better way to act not to hurt each other sometimes, even if it seems not very sincere..But actually I believe that any smile is true in origin for its intention to bring more light to Earth. Humanity really needs more smiles. Thanks for this thought-provoking poem, best wishes and sincere Smile to you :) A.
A sad truth presented with skill and originality. But I feel the wistfulness behind the words. 10, of course. Always your friend, Sandra
